Abstract
SUMMARY1. Chromosome numbers and karyotypes are reported for eight species of Erigeron. Chromosome numbers for three species are reported here for the first time. These are: E. philadelphicus 2n = 18, E. flagellaris 2n = 36, E. flahaultianum 2n = 54.2. The genus Erigeron is characterized by its asymmetrical karyotypes and the small size of its chromosomes, in comparison to those found in the Japanese species of Aster. Almost all the chromosomes have submedian-subterminal centromeres. RIASSUNTOL'Autore studia la caryodogia di 8 specie appartenenti al genere Erigeron, al fine di chiarire attraverso l'analisi citologica la base della loro speciazione. Keywords
