Abstract
During the premetaphase stretch stage in male meiosis in the mantid Hierodula sp., a high percentage of malorientation of the sex trivalent is found. At metaphase, however, the number of maloriented trivalents is so small that a considerable amt. of reorientation must occur between these 2 phases. The forces involved are obviously of significance in the general problem of the mitotic mechanism. Keywords
