Abstract
A case is reported with a ventricular rate of 300 to 315, believed to be the fastest rate recorded by ecg. in a human beyond infancy. Cold agglutinin studies demonstrated a significant drop in titer over a 7-wk. period subsequent to the embolism. The possibility is discussed that a rise in the titer of cold agglutinins coincident with acute respiratory infections plays an etiologic role in some cases of "idiopathic thrombophlebitis.".Keywords
