Abstract
A patient with stage D2 prostatic cancer underwent balloon dilatation of a ureteroileal stricture with insertion of a Cope self-retaining loop. This stent, which has sideholes only in the kidney, is less likely than a double-pigtail stent to become obstructed, with subsequent risk of sepsis and death, and is a cost-effective solution to the problem of obstruction in such high-risk patients. Keywords
