Abstract
Eserine injected into the medial dorsal thalamic nucleus of rabbits resulted in 14 cycles/sec. positive spikes in the EEG resembling those reported by Gibbs in man. It is postulated that the epileptic discharge in the rabbits may be related to altered acetylcholine metabolism at the thalamic level. The experiments give support to the concept that local biochemical change may result in epileptic discharges. Keywords
