Abstract
Elastic constants were determined from wave velocities by iteration of the perturbation expansion of the secular determinant. Calculations, carried to twenty iterations, were performed for many propagation directions in cubic nickel. Convergence was best along the boundaries of the unit triangle. Within the interior, the percentage difference between the true elastic constants and the final iterated values was never larger than 3200 ppm. This publication has 7 references indexed in Scilit:
