Abstract
A digital computer was used to determine the electric and magnetic fields in an argon plasma with sufficient electron density so that the applied microwave fields are shielded from the interior of the discharge by the skin effect. An approximate method of determining the surface resistance, not requiring a computer, is also given. Some experimental results confirming the theory are presented. Keywords
