Abstract
By continuously depositing fresh magnesium onto a target surface in high vacuum, it was possible to obtain the spectrum of secondary electrons liberated from atomically clean metal. The results show excellent agreement with predicted Auger transitions, and the continuous background spectrum between Auger peaks vanishes. Keywords
