Differential Responses of Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pers. Selections to Three Herbicides1

Abstract
Bermudagrass (Cynodon dactylon (L.) Pets.) selections were evaluated as rooted cuttings for their reaction to atrazine, bromacil, and dalapon applied as subirrigation solutions. Herbicide effects were first observable as changes in leaf color with leaves becoming yellow and ultimately dying. These changes were quantitatively assessed by a recording densitometer. Selections differed significantly in responses to herbicide exposure with some showing a high degree of resistance. No selection was resistant to all three herbicides.
