Abstract
To the Editor: It has been with professional interest and, quite often, with amusement that I have reviewed recent reports concerning such newly discovered maladies as jogger's nipples,1 penile frostbite,2 and jogger's liver,3 among others.4 , 5 I must confess that my sense of humor faded and my professional detachment decreased when my own case became the latest in the field of jogging-related injuries.A 28-year-old house officer, physically active and a jogger for seven years, began to have severe right subcostal and right flank pain within the first quarter mile (0.4 km) of his daily run.
