Abstract
Anorexia nervosa is characterized by a triad of denials: denial of hunger, denial of thinness, and denial of fatigue. The undernutrition must be treated first, if it is so advanced as to constitute an immediate peril. Psychotherapy must then be directed to preventing relapses by dealing with disturbance in the body image and by restoring proper perception of hunger and fatigue. Keywords
