Abstract
The test substances (hexobarbital, codeine, dextromethorphan, pipazetate and 2-aminoindane) inhibit the ability of the coughing center of guinea pigs to sum up afferent impulses. The prominent target of action of these cough depressing substances is this center. It became evident that each substance may produce further specific effects in other parts of the central structures of the cough reflex. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
