Abstract
Two procedures used for detn. of urine I131 radiation are described. The importance of mass absorption as a possible source of error and its correction is pointed out in the measurement of I131 activity by counting beta rays. A study of the urinary excretion of I131 by the described beta and gamma counting procedures yielded agreement within 5%. The advantages and limitations of the 2 procedures are briefly discussed and the indications for the use of each are given. Keywords
