Abstract
The S⊗ gauge model of weak and electromagnetic interactions introduced by Weinberg and Salam is extended to the group S⊗⊗. A natural cancellation of the effective Lagrangian for neutral strangeness-changing semileptonic processes is achieved without using charmed quarks. The additional neutral vector boson may have an arbitrarily small mass.
