Abstract
Twelve patients subjected to standard leucotomy showed a significant increase in skin resistance (palmar sweating) persisting, though diminished, 6 months post-operatively. After minor psychosurgical procedures 7 patients did not exhibit such symptoms. Changes in skin resistance following prefrontal leucotomy are related to changes in the mental state rather than to those in thermo-regulation.Keywords
