Abstract
Utilization of different C and N compounds, vitamins and growth hormones by F. moniliforme var. subglutinans in culture was studied. Optimum growth was recorded on pectin followed in decreasing order by mannitol, starch, xylose and fructose. Maximum sporulation was obtained in mannitol followed by starch and pectin. Among the N sources, peptone was the best both for growth and sporulation. The fungus was favored by biotin and only slightly by thiamine in the medium. Maleic hydrazide proved to be the best source for growth and sporulation of the fungus among the externally supplied growth hormones followed in descending order by GA, IBA and NAA [1-naphthalene acetic acid].This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
