Abstract
Cat Hb binds 2 mol of triethyltin/mol of Hb. Pretreatment of Hb with diethyl pyrocarbonate at pH 6.0 prevents binding to 1 site only, but photo-oxidation with methylene blue removes both sites. Pretreatment of rat Hb with diethyl pyrocarbonate leads to loss of 1 binding site. The 2 binding sites for triethyltin on cat and rat Hb may have a different chemical nature. This publication has 14 references indexed in Scilit:
