Abstract
A case of bacterial endocarditis caused by Haemophilus aphrophilus and resulting in the death of a 70-year-old woman with a rheumatic valvular heart disease is presented. H. aphrophilus was identified biochemically and by its growth requirements. The point of entry for the infection appeared most likely to be periodontal lesions. Keywords
