Abstract
The results of artificial urinary sphincter implantation and Young-Dees-Leadbetter bladder neck reconstruction were compared in 27 patients with neurogenic urinary incontinence. Although an equal degree of continence was achieved with both procedures the reoperation rate was significantly higher in patients who underwent artificial sphincter implantation. The advantages and disadvantages of each procedure are discussed. Keywords
