The Management of Severe Urinary Incontinence in patients with Myelodysplasia by Implantation of the as 791/792 Urinary Sphincter Device

Abstract
Patients (24) with gross sphincter incontinence owing to myelomeningocele had implantation of the AS 791/792 artificial urinary sphincter. In 22 patients (92%) urinary control was achieved, and in 1 continence was maintained 40 mo. after implantation. No deleterious effects on the urinary tract were observed in the patients who were continent or in the 2 in whom the implantation failed because of bladder neck cuff erosion.
