Abstract
Radioactive analysis of tissues from 2 human subjects obtained at post-mortem and of surgical specimens of skin and muscle at varying intervals following the administration of albumin-I131 revealed that plasma, skin, muscle, and large viscera contained 77% of the exchangeable albumin stores. Albumin pools of skin and muscle accounted for 50% of the extravascular albumin and required 4 to 5 days for essentially complete equilibration with plasma albumin. Less than 1% of the body''s albumin stores was located in the extravascular space of the liver. Keywords
