Abstract
The addition of lactate, succinate, or methylglyoxal restored the power of reducing methylene blue to yeast preparations washed to a point at which no fermentation of hexosediphosphate occurred. It is concluded that a co-enzyme is probably not required for the action of the reductase in yeast preparations. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
