Abstract
Fattening lambs treated with subcutaneous implantations of either 6 or 12 mg. of stilbestrol gained significantly faster than the control group and were more efficient in feed utilization. Carcass yield and grade were consistently lower among the treated lambs. There was little difference in rate of gain, feed efficiency, feed consumption or carcass grade and yield between the lambs treated with 6 mg. of stilbestrol and those treated with 12 mg. of stilbestrol.
