Abstract
The inelastic scattering of protons from and has been measured with energy resolution on the order of . Many states were observed and a number of weak coupling multiplets were identified. Use of the collective model and weak coupling theory enabled spin and parity assignments to be made. Calculations for the observed single particle states with noncentral forces and with core polarization are presented.
