Abstract
For perfect fluids with the equation of state p=( gamma -1) mu ( gamma =constant) the static cylindrically symmetric solution which is regular at the symmetry axis is given in a closed form. In addition to gamma the solution contains a real parameter which determines the central pressure. The limit gamma =2 and the special case of plane symmetry are considered. Keywords
