Abstract
Fractionation of the skin-sensitizing factor in ragweed hay fever by electrophoresis, salting out procedures and chromatography showed that the reagin was not contained in any single fraction, though most of it appears to be contained in the alpha2 and gamma globulins. Semi-quantitative check by titration in passive transfer showed that fractionation by any method entailed considerable losses of reagin. It therefore appears to be more labile than was formerly believed. Previous attempts at fractionation of reagin-containing human sera are evaluated. Keywords
