Abstract
Within the Falicov-Kimball model with hybridisation the trial function for the intermediate valence state which is described as the exciton condensate is constructed. There are several insulator states with different energy gaps. The narrow-gap state observed in SmB6 may be derived in the framework of the approach developed, both the hybridisation and the excitonic effects being essential. The optical properties of this state are calculated. Keywords
