Abstract
Anserine and carnosine have been found to be present in brain tissue. The dipeptides were isolated by column and paper chromatographic techniques, and their identity was confirmed by subsequent hydrolysis in acid to yield β-alanine, methylhistidine, and histidine. Keywords
