Abstract
Substantial progress has been made recently in generation, focusing, and transport of intense electron and light ion beams. The impetus for this work has been to develop a 1 MJ, 1014W particle beam device for inertial confinement ignition experiments and to create a practical technology base for application to future commercial power reactors. Keywords
