Probing gluon and charm densities usingWandZhadroproduction at largepT

We show that the associated production of a $W$ boson and a charm quark in high-energy $\mathrm{pp}$ or $p\overline{p}$ collisions provides a measure of the gluon distribution (at $x\sim \frac{M_W}{\sqrt{s}}$). Comparison with associated $\mathrm{Zc}$ production gives a determination of the ratio of the charm- to the strange-quark density distributions.
