Abstract
Infrared fluorescence of Rb2 in the region 4700 to 6500cm-1, which arises when levels of C 1Π u state are pumped by the 4765 and 4880 Å lines of an argon-ion laser, has been recorded at high resolution by Fourier transform spectrometry. It is assigned to the system C 1Π u → 1 1Π g , and the positions of levels up to ν = 68 in 1 1Π g have been determined. Constants for the 1 1Π g state of 85Rb2 are as follows: The dissociation energy, D e, for this state is estimated to be 1290 ± 30 cm-1.Keywords
