Abstract
To the Editor: The report by Safai et al., in the July 10 issue, on "T-cell differentiating activity" released by epidermal cell cultures from patients with mycosis fungoides accords in part with our data.1 Their report was particularly interesting to us because, in contrast to our results, the authors failed to find such activity in tissue cultures of normal epidermis.That epidermis might mediate effects parallel to those of the thymus has been suspected for many years. For example, morphologic2 and antigenic3 similarities have been found between thymic Hassall's corpuscles and the skin; the mutant "nude" mouse is both congenitally . . .Keywords
