Abstract
Free amino and phenolic groups did not appear essential to the proteolytic or the hypotensive activity of trypsin. Characteristics of the protein groups associated with the hypotensive activity of trypsin were given. These corresponded with the properties of free tryptophan although participation of other groups was not excluded. Changes in the proteolytic and hypotensive activities of trypsin were not always parallel. Keywords
