PHOSPHONOLIPIDS: VIII. SYNTHESIS OF PHOSPHONIC ACID ANALOGUES OF DIETHERL-α-LECITHINS

Abstract
A method is described that permits the synthesis of the racemic as well as both enantiomeric forms of phosphonic acid analogues of saturated or unsaturated diether α-lecithins.The phosphonic acid analogues of diether α-lecithins are obtained by phosphonylating saturated or unsaturated D-, L-, or DL-α,β-di-O-alkyl glycerol ethers with 2-bromoethylphosphonic acid monochloride in the presence of triethylamine at 0–5°, and treating the resulting di-O-alkyi α-glyceryl-(2-bromoethyl)phosphonates with trimethylamine in dimethylformamide at 50–55°.
