Abstract
Twenty-one dead fetuses, 13 of which were examined before parturition were systematically examined. Demonstration of free gas in the fetus before parturition is of practical importance in the roentgen diagnosis of intra-uterine death. It is suggested that gas formation occurs due to hemoglobin decomposition. Keywords
