Spectroscopy ofZn68,Zn70, andGe74via the (d,He3) reaction

Abstract
The Ga69,71(d,He3)Zn68,70 and As75(d,He3)Ge74 reactions have been studied at 26 MeV with an overall resolution of 18-20 keV using a split pole magnetic spectrometer. Spectroscopic factors have been extracted for 16 levels in Zn68, 14 levels in Zn70, and 24 levels in Ge74. The ratio R=σ(02+)σ(0g.s.+) shows a singularity at N=40. The small value of R for Ge74 is consistent with a previously proposed description of the structure of the states involved which is based on a simple mixing of p32 and f52 proton configurations. The results for the Ga(d,He3)Zn reactions are compared with a recent shell-model calculation.
