Abstract
The many causes of pancreatitis make it a challenging disease to treat successfully. Depending on the underlying cause, antibiotics may have little or no effect in some types of the disease. Drs Byrne and Treadwell review the various types of pancreatitis and offer insight into the role of antibiotics in the treatment of infection and necrosis that may arise. Keywords
