Abstract
The f-d hybridisation and the appearance of two 4f structures close to the Fermi level in the golden phase of SmS are analysed. These two 4f structures are split by a pseudo-gap which is justified by the coupling of the XYZ orbital with the d-band states. The coupling ratio depends on the hydrostatic pressure effects and the value of the Coulomb correlation energy. Keywords
