Furacin Residues in Milk

Abstract
The minimum level of furacin detectable in milk using the disc assay against Bacillus subtilis was investigated. Furacin added to milk was detected at the 0.03 [mu]g/ml. The zones produced had uniformly small diameters with little difference between the 0,03 [mu]g/ml and 25 [mu]g/ml levels of furacin. The milk from 8 animals infused with 30 ml of a 0.2% furacin preparation in one quarter contained no furacin 24 hours after the last treatment.
