Abstract
The Stark effect in several vibrational levels of the d 3Δ i state of CO has been measured by laser induced molecular beam electric resonancespectroscopy. The electric dipole moments are The value of the dipole moment at the equilibrium internuclear separation is estimated to be μ e =0.72 D with the sign −CO+. Comparison of the experimental results with recent electron structure calculations is discussed. Keywords
