Abstract
Charge-density-wave (CDW) strain in a quasi-one-dimensional conductor is studied with high-resolution x-ray diffraction. It is found that photoexcitation promotes the relaxation of the CDW strain imposed by the external electric field, which can drastically affect the dynamic phase transition of the CDW motion from a sliding state to a creep state. The deformation of the CDW structure in the creeping phase is also found.
