Abstract
■ Barriers exist that prevent inter-professional collaboration, such as poor communication, power struggles and traditional thinking ■ Solutions to the obstacles include multidisciplinary audit, clinical guidelines, shared education and new management structures ■ Benefits of collaborative working have implications for children and their families ■ Development of professional skills and innovative approaches are possible through inter-professional collaborationKeywords
