Abstract
Estrone, estradiol, estradiol benzoate and estradiol dipropionate were compared by injecting daily a sesame oil soln. containing .01 mg. of the appropriate hormone. In ascending oviduct-stimulating power, the order of the hormones was: estrone, estradiol, estradiol benzoate and estradiol dipropionate. There was no effect on body wt. in the pullet chicks, but there was a slight body size depression in the [female][female]. Diol-esters were more efficient as S comb depressants than either the diol or estrone. The [female] combs were unaffected. Gonads were depressed in both sexes. Adrenals from the [female] chicks of the estradiol and the estradiol benzoate groups appeared slightly stimulated, while there was a general depression of this organ in the [female][female].This publication has 12 references indexed in Scilit:
