Abstract
Seizures are a common clinical problem among children. Dr MacDonald describes how thorough evaluation and accurate classification of the seizure type can assist the physician in formulating an individualized therapeutic plan for the child and provide insight into prognosis. He emphasizes that if medication is prescribed, use of a single agent is effective in most cases and also reduces the incidence of side effects, which are often associated with polypharmacy. Keywords
