Abstract
Presentation of CaseA sixty-year-old businessman entered the hospital because of weakness.Eleven years previously there was an episode of diarrhea associated with tetany, fatigue and loss of weight. Subsequently, he remained well until seven years before admission, when intermittent watery diarrhea, occasional facial paresthesias, abdominal distention in the late afternoon and bleeding from the gums, nose, anus and urinary bladder occurred. Ecchymoses and slight clubbing of the fingers were observed. Examination of the blood at this time revealed a hemoglobin of 11.4 gm. per 100 ml.
