Abstract
The effect of a dietary supplement of cholesterol (2% by weight) on liver vitamin A storage was determined for young and adult rats of both sexes. Cholesterol feeding had no statistically significant effect on liver vitamin A stores in young or adult female rats, but the liver vitamin A levels of adult males were significantly lowered. The mean depression of liver vitamin A was more marked in sexually immature males (46%) than in adult males (16%).Keywords
