Abstract
A novel current impulse commutation circuit for single- and three-phase thyristor inverters is presented and fully analyzed. Relevant design expressions are also derived. Moreover, it is shown that the proposed circuit has a number of significant advantages over commutation circuits currently employed.Keywords
