Abstract
Mobility measurements were carried out in a glass cylindrical cell 10 cm. long and 0.5 mm. inside diam. with Pt-wire electrodes. The [zeta]-potential was measured at const. ionic strength and varying pH. Two strains were found to possess different surface properties as shown by variation of [zeta]-potential with pH. The surface of one of the strains consisted partly of a phos-phatidic fat and partly of protein; the other strain was almost entirely of a low charge d. phosphatidic fat. The possible presence of pos. groups in the fat itself was not excluded. This publication has 4 references indexed in Scilit:
