Abstract
"Pregnanediol glucuronide" from human preg-nancy urine was oxidized with Na bismuthate to give 3 alpha-hydroxypregnan-20-one, pregnane-3 alpha, 20 alpha-diol and their 3 alpha-formates. Pregnane-3 alpha, 20 alpha-diol was ex-tracted from pregnancy urine treated with Na bismuthate in approx. the same yield, as from acid-hydrolyzed urine. Keywords
