Abstract
IN the course of a systematic search for tumor cells in the blood of patients with cancer of the female genital tract or of the head and neck areas, cells with the characteristics of megakaryocytes were frequently observed. It is the purpose of this paper to report and analyze these observations as follows: to compare the numbers of megakaryocytes in the antecubital-vein blood of cancer patients with the numbers in the antecubital-vein blood of normal controls; to compare the numbers of megakaryocytes in the antecubital-vein blood of cancer patients with the numbers found in local venous blood draining the site . . .Keywords
